These calculators are built from field guides, extension bulletins and a lot of real homesteading. If a number looks wrong, it might be. Tell us and we'll fix it.
What we'd love to hear
- A number that doesn't match reality.If your Australorps lay nothing like our estimate, or your coop plan fought your local code, that's the most useful mail we get. Tell us your breed, climate and what actually happened.
- A calculator we're missing. Hay and feed budgets, rainwater catchment, firewood cords, seed-starting dates — say what you keep working out on paper.
- Something broken.A page that won't load, a result that saved wrong, a link that goes nowhere. Include the page address and what browser you were using.
- A source we should be citing.Extension publications and breed data we've overlooked are always welcome.
One thing we can't see
Your calculator inputs never leave your browser, so we have no record of what you entered. When you report a wrong result, paste your numbers into the email — otherwise there's nothing on our end to look at. Back to the calculators →
